A young woman high on “ice and G” has pleaded guilty to stabbing another young woman “to the bone” with a steak knife in an unprovoked attack.
Tiffany Crofts, 24, of Hamlyn Terrace, faced Wyong Local Court on Tuesday where she pleaded guilty to the reckless wounding of Tammy Ford, 22, in the car park of Westfield Tuggerah on Sunday, February 4.
An agreed set of facts states Crofts was with three others in a Hyundai i30 when one of the group called Ms Ford via Snapchat and arranged to meet in the car park behind the cinemas shortly before 10am.
When Mr Ford arrived she got another call telling her the caller was in the car behind her and both got out and went to give each other a hug.
However the facts state Crofts also got out of the car and ran up to Ms Ford, who she knew previously, and started screaming at her.
“Ms Ford felt scared and turned her body toward the shopping centre,” the facts state.
“She didn’t have time to move.”
Crofts stabbed Ms Ford twice in the back and arm leaving her screaming for help as blood poured down her side.
Ms Ford got back into the car from where she came and told that driver to “drive mate, drive”.
“She stabbed me, get me to a hospital, I need to call my mum, don’t let me die,” Ms Ford begged that driver.
He drove Ms Ford to Wyong Police Station and ran into reception with police rushing outside to provide first aid.
Ms Ford was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where she was treated for massive blood loss and two deep stab wounds including the one on her arm, which went through her triceps and down “to the bone”.
Crofts got back into the i30 holding the bloodstained knife and one of the passengers said “what the f--k are you doing?” and “why the f--k did you do that?”.
The driver of that car, Maddison Kelly, aged 29 at the time, drove onto Wyong Rd and then onto McPherson Rd until she stopped at a white bridge and Crofts threw the knife into a shallow creek.
Kelly, from Berkeley Vale, then dropped Crofts off at Gosford before going to the commuter car park and stealing a number plate from another white Hyundai i30 and fixing it to her car.
Crofts was arrested later that afternoon and told police she didn’t remember anything because she was on “too many drugs, ice and G”.
Crofts has been remanded in custody since her arrest and was adjourned to face Gosford District Court on December 16 to fix a sentence date.
Kelly also faced Wyong Local Court on Tuesday where she pleaded guilty to failing to disclose the other passengers in her car, stealing the number plate and assisting Crofts in the reckless wounding of Ms Ford.
Kelly’s bail was continued and she will be sentenced in Wyong Local Court on February 12.
