Weather warnings as coast braces for more high winds and huge surf
A large tree has fallen at Tuggerawong, power has been cut to homes and wind gusts of up to 96km/h have been recorded at Norah Head. And there’s still more wild weather to come.

A deepening low pressure system in the Tasman Sea has driven heavy rain, blustery winds and powerful surf across the Central Coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) recorded a whopping 96 km/h gust of wind at Norah Head just before 9am this morning.
Weather warnings for gale force winds and powerful seas remain in place for the coast into the evening and tomorrow.
Wyong SES are currently in Tuggerawong helping clear up damage from a gum tree that has fallen across two properties causing roof and fence damage.
“It's a good reminder to avoid parking your cars under trees during this windy weather and make sure the kids are safe and warm inside,” Wyong SES posted to social media.
“Also secure any outdoor loose items that can become airborne in strong wind gusts.”
The BOM has warned of damaging winds averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h likely on the coast. The winds are expected to ease tomorrow.
Coast beaches are experiencing heavy surf conditions, with warnings of local erosion, and conditions are expected to ease from Thursday.
Power outages at Forresters Beach, Tumbi Umbi and Wamberal have occurred this morning, however Ausgrid reports the outrages have been restored.
Since Monday, 25.2mm of rain has fallen at Gosford and 39mm of rain at Norah Head.
Temperature will be between 9-16 degrees tomorrow.
