A new primary school is to be built at Warnervale.

Planning has started on the design of the new school, which includes 20 new “future focused” classrooms and facilities including a new hall with capacity for 1000 students, and a new library.

The new school will accommodate up to 460 students, and help meet the anticipated growth in enrolment demand in the area.

NSW Department of Education hosted a forum on Tuesday night in Warnervale for local school principals and Parents and Citizens group representatives to provide information on the need for a new primary school in the area.

Education planners also explained enrolment projections and capacity at nearby High Schools.

Engagement with the community will continue as site selection and design details of the state-of- the-art facilities are finalised.

The proposed new school at Warnervale is one of more than 120 projects to be funded by the NSW Government over the next four years under $4.2 billion school building program announced as part of the 2017/18 State Budget.

“I’m pleased the NSW Government is delivering this important project.”
