A 10-week-old baby boy has suffered head injuries after falling one metre from a table.
The boy was initially unresponsive when emergency services were called to a home in Wamberal.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was called shortly before 11am and landed 15 minutes later at Terrigal Rugby Club in The Haven.
NSW Ambulance paramedics had already provided initial treatment for the baby and drove him and his mother to the club.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic examined the boy and performed a clinical assessment before preparing for flight transfer.
He was flown with his mother in a stable condition to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s aeromedical team.
