THE owner of Terrigal’s most luxurious beachside accommodation has put his hand up to house sprint star Usain Bolt during his indefinite stay on the Coast.
Bob Lloyd from Star of the Sea has offered the track star stunning views of the ocean and a swim-up bar at the outdoor pool.
Star of the Sea has a positive relationship with the club already and it is understood they were in touch with the Mariners as soon as news broke that Bolt was a target.
Mr Lloyd has said he would take the eight-time Olympic gold medallist in when he lands in Australia on August 18, as they do with all of the country’s biggest and best sporting teams and players.
As it happens, Mr Lloyd only just saw the St George Illawarra Dragons leave his apartments after they held a camp on the Central Coast following their recent form slump.
If Bolt was to stay at Star of the Sea, he would follow in the footsteps of national team coach Graham Arnold and former Mariners marquee striker John Aloisi who both had extended stays in the luxury apartments while with the club.
The Express Advocate was given an exclusive walk-through of one of the apartments that will be offered to Bolt — referred to as Room 7 — to get an idea of where the 31-year-old could be staying.
Room 7 has three bedrooms, including a master bedroom, and a large deck that wraps around to offer views that stretch from The Skillion at Terrigal right across to Wamberal beach.
An open-plan living area and kitchen offers plenty of space for entertaining, while the large glass windows will give Bolt one of the best aspects in the world to look at as he cooks his bacon and eggs.
As you enter, a door to your right leads you to the third bedroom while a hallway to the left takes you to the laundry, a second bathroom and the second bedroom.
Bolt would have access to an on-site gym, an indoor pool, a steam room, a billiards room and the only squash court left on the Central Coast — one which also has a basketball hoop installed.
It is within walking distance of Terrigal’s cafe culture and thriving night-life.
