WITH news international sprint star Usain Bolt could sign with the Mariners, we thought we’d give him a quick guide of the best places to go and things to do on the Central Coast. He may only be here for a six week trial, but that’s plenty of time to make him a Coastie.
Best place to get a date
Bolt is known as quite the ladies’ man who’s quite fond of a nightclub. We steer him in the direction of Sirens at Terrigal, one of the best late night joints on the Coast.
The nightclub, along with Sydney’s Ivy, are the only two licensed R’n’B Fridays in NSW.
Whether the 31-year-old wants to snag a date or dance the night away, owner Ross Glynatsis said he would roll out the red carpet for Bolt and “give him the VIP treatment”.
“He's more than welcome to drop in and have a drink with me. We’re sure he will have a good time,” Mr Glynatsis said.
Who knows, he could even fall in love with a Coastie.
Running and Training
If Bolt is keen to strap on his spikes and get back into sprint training, he should head to Mingara, one of the best athletics tracks on the Coast — actually it’s the only purpose built one.
If it’s leg strength he needs to work on, you can’t go past the Skillion at Terrigal, where Bolt can join exercise groups or just run up and down the steep, gruelling hill.
He better watch out for the crumbling cliff face for at least the next week while Central Coast Council sorts out how to stabilise the area.
Best place to live/invest
With stunning beaches at his feet, there’s endless spots for Bolt to settle down after a hard match in the A-league.
If he’s keen to snatch the best of the best, he can spend up at one of the immaculate Elysium apartments in Terrigal which are currently being built by millionaire property magnate Tony Denny.
If he’s on a more strict budget, there’s might be a spare relocatable home available at Kincumber Nautical Village. Don’t worry about the smell Usain, once the breeze kicks in it settles down.
Places to get selfies and #SnapCoast pictures
The Central Coast is renowned for its beautiful beaches and has some of the most popular places to get an Instagram pic — or in Bolt’s case to strike one of his infamous poses.
Terrigal skillion and Long Jetty are among the most popular locations for an Instagram post. Terrigal has clocked more than 108,000 posts, while Long Jetty has around 38,000.
Stuff to do on the weekends There’s no need for Bolt to head out of the Coast on weekends, with plenty of fun filled attractions. Bolt could snuggle up to a dingo pup or be part of the crocodile feeding frenzy at the Australian Reptile Park, hop in one of the legendary models at the Gosford Classic Car Museum or feed the pelicans at The Entrance.
If it’s adventure Bolt craves, he could whip out his foamie and head to Crackneck. Don’t be put off by the name, there’s only been a handful of near drownings and rock related injuries.
