A bricklayer, who police allege had sex with a 14-year-old girl, has been refused bail after he was charged with further offences, a court has heard.

Australia's Court System

Isacc Warner, of Tumbi Umbi, was not required to appear via video link at Wyong Local Court on Tuesday when his matter was mentioned briefly.

The court heard the 23-year-old’s bail had been revoked after he was charged with further offences last month.

Mr Warner was charged in January with having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl, intentionally sexually touching her and intentionally inciting her to sexually touch him.

His Legal Aid solicitor told the court at the time Mr Warner was employed as a bricklayer and intended to plead not guilty to all three offences.

On Tuesday the court heard Mr Warner had been charged with further offences including two more counts of sexual intercourse with the alleged victim; two counts of indecent assault of a person under 16, one count of inciting a person to commit an act of indecency; and three counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Mr Warner was arrested at his house following an investigation by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.

Charge sheets tendered in court allege Mr Warner sexually assaulted the teenage girl between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, January 24, at Long Jetty.

Police will allege in court the offences occurred while he was visiting the girl’s family home.

At his first bail application Magistrate Elizabeth Ellis said while the police facts indicated the alleged victim may have instigated some of the alleged offending, she might not have been in a position to consent given her young age.

Ms Ellis said the police facts also state Mr Warner made some kind of “admissions” in a text to the alleged victim in which he said “I’m sorry”.

The court heard Mr Warner was an Aboriginal man who participated in events to share Indigenous culture with the wider community and had ADHD and other mental health issues.

His matter was adjourned to July 20.
