The Lucky Bee restaurant at Woy Woy will close its rooftop doors this weekend.

However, the much-loved restaurant has not left the Central Coast having recently opened another Lucky Bee in Hardys Bay.

Owners Rupert Noffs and Chef Matty Bennett relocated from New York to the Central Coast after seven years of running their own restaurant, opening The Lucky Bee in Woy Woy in 2018.

Mr Noffs said they would finish up at Woy Woy’s Frankie’s Rooftop Bar, above The Bayview Hotel, on Sunday.

“It’s come to the end of our one year contract — and we have decided not to re-sign with the Bayview Hotel,” he said.

“We are concentrating fully on our Hardys Bay location — which is ours — our food, our bar, our staff, The Lucky Bee concept from NYC.

“It’s been a great year launching our fresh, modern Asian share-plates on the Coast. We know there is there a need for a causal dining spot with fresh, spicy food.”

The pair are also excited to announce the launch of their Lucky Bee product range of curry pastes and spices in the coming weeks.

Mr Noffs said when they arrived on the coast they wanted to create something similar to their previous restaurant.

“We wanted to create something here similar to what we did in New York; fast, friendly and inclusive,” he said.

Noffs is the effusive host and Bennett the head chef serving his signature Southeast Asian small plates — focusing on fresh, local seafood along with classic Tiki-inspired cocktails, local craft beers and local and imported wines.
