A Bandidos bikie was supposed to be keeping out of trouble after being sentenced for supplying 74g of cocaine but instead he was allegedly intercepted on phone taps supplying kilograms of the drug, a court has heard.
Joshua Hugh Deane, 40, of The Entrance was not required to appear via video link after he was arrested about 1pm on January 13 by officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor North squad.
Deane was taken to The Entrance Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supplying a commercial quantity of cocaine, supplying meth, failing to unlock his phone when directed and possessing 10.9g of “ice”.
Charge sheets tendered in court allege Deane was caught supplying 1.3kg of cocaine between 9am and 1pm on January 13 when Raptor North officers came knocking.
The charge sheets further allege he supplied another 935.84g of cocaine and an amount of meth that was greater than the indictable amount but less than the commercial quantity during the same period.
He also allegedly failed to comply with a digital evidence access direction later that afternoon.
On Tuesday the court heard police were still awaiting a forensic download of his mobile phone and a transcript of body worn video before a brief of evidence could be supplied to Deane’s lawyer Anthony Tashman.
Mr Tashman did not apply for bail for his client and it was formally refused.
The court heard Deane was on an 18-month intensive correction order after being sentenced last year for the deemed supply of 74g of cocaine he was found in possession of while sitting in a car at Long Jetty in September 2023.
Deane was not required to enter any pleas and was adjourned to face court again via video link on April 8.
