The Entrance: Bail refused for man accused of shooting man in chest
Police have been left baffled over what motivated a man to allegedly shoot another man in the chest at The Entrance.

A man was refused bail on Friday after he allegedly shot a man in the chest at The Entrance last month for no apparent reason.
Tuggerah Lakes Police were called to a house on The Entrance road about 1am on April 28 following reports a 43-year-old man had been shot in the chest.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being flown to Royal North Shore Hospital where he underwent to surgery.
He has since been discharged from hospital and is recovering.
Following inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, May 7, and taken to The Entrance Police Station where he was charged with discharging a firearm with the intention of causing grievous bodily harm and possessing unauthorised firearm.
A police spokesman said the shooting did not appear to be drug related or if there had been any prior conflict between the two men, who were known to each other.
However he said “an amount of alcohol had been consumed”.
“We don’t know what the (alleged) motivation was,” he said.
The alleged shooter was refused bail and appeared in Newcastle Local Court on Friday where he was again refused bail to appear in Wyong Local Court on Tuesday, June 16.
