That’s a good reason to celebrate.
Property development and construction company St Hilliers marked the “topping out” of the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI) development in Gosford today, as the building reached its highest point.
A special ceremony was held to mark the “milestone”, however it was soon back to work with the development on track for completion towards the end of this year.
St Hilliers group property development and investment manager Mark Dixon said the development was running smoothly with no significant hold ups.
“It’s tracking along well,” he said.
“It’s concrete framed and will have a combination of glass and screening on the outside. It will be fully fitted out by the end of the year.”
Mr Dixon said the development was a “great project” for Gosford.
“It’s a great place and the whole precinct has a lot of potential,” he said.
“It’s always hard for people to imagine it when the scaffolding is up.”
The 1.1 hectare mixed-use commercial building is expected to create 300 local job opportunities at the relocated DFSI offices.
“The 32 Mann Street development is more than just about the bricks and mortar,” St Hilliers group general manager Dan Hinton said.
“It is about building opportunities and connecting communities. We are proud to be a part of creating local jobs and developing the Gosford CBD as a key business hub located just one hour from Sydney.
“While development and construction is our expertise, we also pride ourselves on ensuring the community is engaged from the onset of our projects.
“We have achieved this with the 32 Mann Street development and intend to continue to work with local businesses, residents and council to ensure they remain part of the progress of the development of the remainder of this site.”
Central Coast MLC Taylor Martin said the project supported the future development of the Gosford CBD as a centre for business and employment.
“It will improve value for NSW taxpayers and deliver world class, fit for purpose office space for DFSI staff,” he said.
Terrigal state Liberal MP Adam Crouch said there had been a lack of new office developments in Gosford over the past decade.
“This building will help revitalise one of the State’s most important economic hubs,” he said.
“The development is expected to deliver an additional $1.4 million in retail expenditure to the CBD, and a further $4.2 million to the broader region per annum.”
