DOYALSON pulled off one of the upsets of the Premier League season and took a huge step toward survival with a nail-biting win over Kincumber at Erina Oval.
With medium pacer Jason Crosara on the money from the get-go, Doyalson (169) bowled out the Griffins for 162 in 69 overs.
It was Doyalson's third win of the season and has the northerners out of the drop zone with only two matches to play before the finals.
Kincumber went into day two confident of another win which would have seen last year's grand finalists cement their place in the top four.
But despite looking on track at times throughout the day, only Shaun Robertson (43) managed to score more than 30 runs.
The Griffins are now in fifth place, eight points behind fourth-placed Terrigal.
Crosara finished with 4-15 from 18 overs, while skipper Stuart Lockyer and Daniel Watson each picked up two scalps.
"It's not 100 percent but hopefully we're safe now," Lockyer said regarding the relegation dogfight.
Doyalson got the season off to a sound start with two good early wins but struggled since.
"We've got Narara this week so we need to back up with another good effort," Lockyer said.
