Anyone from newcomers to seasoned professionals can sign up for the Beach Water Polo Fours competition at Terrigal next weekend.
The modified game is coming to the Central Coast for the first time, with Saturday’s event at The Haven, to be followed by dates at Cronulla, Manly and Port Stephens in the new year.
Each is a stand-alone event, designed to spread the word about water polo, especially to those in the community who are time-poor.
Event organiser Scott Nicholson, himself a former National League player, said the event had already been well supported by Central Coast Council and by the local water polo community.
Registrations for teams closes this weekend, while individuals can continue to register and join an already existing team at any time.
Categories include open men’s, open women’s and mixed social. Teams consist of a minimum of four players and a maximum of eight.
Eventgoers can spectate from the water on an inflatable toy, bring their own kayak or paddle board, or kick back on the beach.
The December 15 event starts at 9am.
