Sally Loughnan is giving shoppers a reason to smile in the toilet paper aisle at her local Coles supermarket.
The singer and mother of three has made bursting into song in aisle seven in the Lisarow store a regular thing – and thousands of people on social media are loving her work.
She chooses a well-known song and then gives it a toilet paper inspired twist.
Among her efforts have been renditions of:
* Home Among the Gum Trees changed to “No dunny rolls among the groceries”;
* Burn For You – “got myself into some trouble tonight … when I did a poo”;
* And Rolling In The Deep – “No toilet roll at all”.
Ms Loughnan said most of her efforts were off the cuff “a 30-second thought” simply aimed at giving people a giggle.
“Since I was a kid, I’ve always changed words to songs,” she said.
“People were complaining in the aisles and I thought I’d rather just make people laugh.”
Her efforts are far from a large-scale production.
“I’ve just been filming them all myself,” she said.
“I’ve had people laughing, joining in and carrying on.”
People have said they can’t believe she would sing like that in the supermarket.
“I sing for a living – I don’t care,” she said.
“My three kids don’t say anything anymore. They’re used to me breaking out into song.”
Ms Loughnan performs in Soul Station, Cover 2 Cover and Rock Duty bands and has performed with Gosford Musical Society since 1995.
