Scone to Mayfield: Police search for four people after hotel raid, police pursuit across regional NSW
A police helicopter has joined the hunt for four masked intruders who stormed a New England hotel before taking police on a chase from Scone to Newcastle, where the stolen car was ditched and they fled on foot.

A police helicopter has joined in the hunt for four masked bandits who stormed a Tamworth hotel room before stealing a Ford Mustang and taking police on a 150km chase to Newcastle.
At about 3.50am on Monday, police were called to a hotel on Spains Lane, Kingswood, following reports of an aggravated break and enter.
Oxley police were told four people with their faces covered had broken into a hotel room before threatening the occupants and stealing the Ford Mustang.
The car was seen by police on the New England Highway at Scone but the driver failed to stop and a chase began.
Police said the pursuit continued through the Muswellbrook, Newcastle and Mayfield areas before the car crashed at the end of Corona St at Mayfield about 6.50am.
The driver and passengers had fled.
A crime scene has been established and police are investigating the incident.
As inquiries continue police are hoping to speak with four youths who may be able to assist with inquiries.
They are described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance. There is no description of their clothing.
