Remy & Co Pasta Bar has established itself as the place to go for authentic, handmade pasta on the Central Coast.

Now the popular restaurant has launched a stone cooked pizza menu to rival any.

The dynamic duo of Elia Eliopoulou and Michael Fantuz has been joined by the self taught pizza guru Daniel Iannello whose love for pizza is evident with the way he works in the kitchen.

While the trio could talk up restaurants they own, or have worked in, they prefer to focus on the way they prepare meals and consider people’s health in the process with gluten free pizzas also available.

“The perception is that pasta if fatty. Our pasta never leaves people full or bloated,” Mr Fantuz said.

“We don’t use cream and we use high quality 00 flour. For our pizzas, the secret to our, which is so light, is that we make it and prove it for 24-48 hours.

“It’s the back end of the process that makes the point of difference. It’s the process of how we make it. We want to give you something that is good for your health.”

Healthy or not — the pizza and pasta here is exceptional. The fresh flavours shine and the dough was like none I had ever tasted. There’s plenty of toppings to choose from including the Capriciosa, with smoked ham, artichoke and mushroom, the Diavola, with hot salami and mushroom, the Margherita and for the lovers of dessert, the Nutella Pizza.

Remy & Co has been open in Erina for the past two and a half years, serving authentic pasta dishes. One of the most popular choices is the Ancient Roman “poor-mans” pasta serves from the pecorino wheel.

This is a one of a kind theatrical food experience, as the Roman spaghetti is tossed in the pecorino wheel before it is served.

“We would sell close to 200 of those a week,” Mr Fantuz said.

“It’s a traditional dish, the Romanian street people used to make pasta using the leftover pecorino wheel.”

Latest specials include Thursday pasta grazing with any three pasta dishes for $30. Remy & Co also host cocktail master classes.
