Raider Tom Starling applies for bail changes over latest Central Coast charges

Canberra Raider hooker Tom Starling has returned to court to request his bail conditions be changed to suit his social life.

Canberra Raider Tom Starling has had his bail conditions changed so he can attend weddings.

Starling’s Central Coast charges, relating to an alleged incident outside Mumbo Jumbo’s bar in Terrigal on October 16, came before Gosford Local Court for a bail variation request on Wednesday.

Starling, 23, and his brothers Josh and Jackson, who are also facing charges, were excused from attending court with their criminal lawyer Samar Singh-Panwar applying for their bail conditions to be changed.

The changes sought included allowing them to attend weddings as they are currently not permitted to drink alcohol or enter any licensed premises. Mr Singh-Panwar did not apply to lift the ban on alcohol.

Magistrate Scott Nash approved all of the bail variations.

Police allege that on October 16, Starling was with his brothers and Chelsea Balzan, 20, when they were refused entry to Mumbo Jumbo’s due to number limits.

They further allege that the group became agitated and threatened the security manager a number of times before walking away.

Starling was charged with threatening or causing injury to potential juror or witness and behaving in offensive manner in or near public place or school.
