Police: Long Jetty crash, drug charges, teens arrested

MOTORCYCLIST CRITICAL

A 30-year-old man has undergone surgery at John Hunter Hospital overnight after his motorcycle and a car collided at Long Jetty.

Just before 4pm yesterday police were called to Tuggerah Parade, near Lake Street, after the motorcycle and Holden Commodore station wagon collided.

The motorcycle rider was flown by the Westpac Helicopter to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

The 53-year-old driver of the Holden was not injured but has been taken to Wyong Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

His male passenger suffered minor injuries but did not seek hospital treatment.

A crime scene has been established as investigations continue.

DRUG CHARGES

A woman will face court today after being charged with drug supply offences on the state’s Central Coast yesterday.

Strike Force Plowet — with officers from Brisbane Water Police District — was established in October 2018 to investigate the supply of drugs, namely methylamphetamine, in the Gosford area.

About 12pm yesterday (Tuesday) police arrested a 37-year-old woman following a vehicle stop on the Pacific Highway, Lisarow.

The vehicle was searched, and officers allegedly located and seized an amount of drugs, believed to be methylamphetamine.

She was arrested and taken to Gosford Police station.

Later that day, police executed a search warrant at a house on Hills Street, North Gosford, just after 3.30pm, where they seized mobile phones, an amount of cannabis and a weapon.

The woman was charged with three counts of offering to supply prohibited drug, and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, supplying prohibited drug and possessing or using a prohibited weapon without permission.

She was refused bail to appear in Gosford Local Court today (Wednesday)

TEENS ARRESTED

Three teenagers have been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Woy Woy earlier this week.

About 3.30am on Monday 14 January 2019, police will allege three teenage boys, all aged 16, entered a service station on Memorial Avenue, Blackwell, near Woy Woy, and threatened the attendant with a gun while demanding money.

The teens fled the scene on foot with a quantity of cash.

No one was injured.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District attended and started an investigation.

Two replica firearms were located and seized nearby.

Following inquires, later the same day one teen was arrested and charged with robbery in company while armed with dangerous weapon.

He appeared in a Children’s Court yesterday (Tuesday) and was bail refused to reappear on Tuesday 12 March 2019.

About 3.30pm yesterday, two other teens were arrested at a residence in Woy Woy and taken to Gosford Police Station.

They were both charged with robbery in company while armed with dangerous weapon and were refused bail to appear in a Children’s Court today (Wednesday)
