Police investigate separate crashes into power poles

POLICE have called for public information after a tragic night on Central Coast roads. One man is dead and another in hospital after crashing into power poles.

One man has been killed and another injured when their cars smashed into power poles in separate incidents on the Central Coast overnight.

A 26-year-old man believed to be from Morisset died at the scene on Fishery Point Road at Bonnels Bay. Police and emergency services arrived at about 4am where they found the man suffering critical injuries after crashing into the pole. They gave first aid but could not save him.

Police are investigating and will prepare a report for the coroner.

A 25-year-old man was flown to John Hunter Hospital after crashing his car into a pole on Wisemans Ferry Road at Mangrove Mountain just before midnight.

A crime scene was established and police investigations continue.
