Police dismantle Woy Woy, Umina Beach drug syndicate
Eight people have been charged and a major drug syndicate dismantled following a seven-month investigation into methylamphetamine supply on the Central Coast.

Eight people have been charged and a major drug syndicate dismantled following a seven-month investigation into drug supply on the Central Coast.
In November 2018, Brisbane Water police established Strike Force Basic to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine in Woy Woy and the surrounding areas.
In February, May and June, strike force detectives executed three search warrants at Woy Woy and Umina addresses, and then yesterday, on July 4, police conducted two firearms prohibition order searches at Woy Woy.
A total of eight people have been charged during the course of the investigation which has seized more than 1kg of methylamphetamine, along with heroin, several firearms, a baton, motor vehicles, jewellery and cash.
Those charged include a man, 46, who has been refused bail to appear in Gosford Local Court today after being charged with 23 counts of supply prohibited drug.
Another man, 67, has been charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a large commercial quantity, other drugs offences including operating a drug premises; and possessing unauthorised firearm and ammunition. He was refused bail to face Gosford Court on July 26.
A woman, 53, was charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a large commercial quantity, and operating a drug premises. She too was refused bail to appear at Gosford Court on July 26.
Others charged with serious drug supply and possession, as well as firearms offences, include a woman, 25, and another man, 38.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with supplying drugs, a 40-year-old man has been charged with supplying and possessing an unregistered firearm; and another 40-year-old man has been charged with drug supply.
Brisbane Water Police District commander, Superintendent Tony Joyce, said the arrests were the result of several months of dedicated investigative work.
“The results of this operation are a testament to the work of officers as a part of our continued effort to target the drug supply chain,” he said.
“We see the devastating impact drugs have in our community and we will continue to work closely with other police districts to dismantle drug syndicates.
