For the second time in three years the same suburban Central Coast street will be at the centre of serious criminal proceedings.
The Express Advocate can reveal police will allege Danielle Easey was murdered on or around August 13 in their home at 13 Reeves St, Narara.
The incident has left neighbours in shock but in May 2017 there was another devastating crime which occurred less than 100m away that had residents stunned.
At a public pathway linking Reeves St to nearby Carrington St a schoolgirl, 12, had been dragged into bushland, tied up and sexually assaulted by a man wearing a ghillie suit.
Three months later police arrested a father-of-three, 33, over the crime.
He has since pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later this year.
The incidents are in no way linked but the aftershocks continue to be felt.
The couple used to live at the Reeves St address together, but neighbours said they were rarely seen at the Narara home.
Residents gathered outside when police from Strike Force Furzer cordoned off a home in their quiet, leafy street as part of the murder investigation.
It started about 1pm when a police tactical squad stormed and cleared the brick house.
This paved the way for the forensics team which arrived shortly after.
Officers photographed the premises, taking items from inside and conducting forensic testing on a table set up in the front yard.
Officers continued to work well into the evening and remain on the scene today.
The body of Ms Easey, 29, was found tightly wrapped in plastic and dumped at Cockle Creek at Killingworth, near Lake Macquarie, on August 31.
A post mortem examination revealed she had been seriously assaulted and stabbed.
Police will allege Ms Easey was killed at the Narara home on or about August 17.
Her body is believed to have been taken to a chicken processing facility at Cardiff where Mr Dilosa worked as caretaker, living in a tiny brick office.
Schoolchildren getting off the bus yesterday were intrigued by the police presence, while neighbours indicated they rarely saw the people who lived inside.
“I literally never saw them,” one neighbour said.
Another neighbour said they believed the pair were a couple, and rented the premises through the Department of Housing.
Another neighbour described the pair as “very messy” however said she rarely saw them.
The Express Advocate understands police were doorknocking surrounding homes last week to see if anyone had CCTV cameras set up.
The garage of the small brick home was filled with belongings in laundry baskets and plastic tubs, suitcases and a box freezer while there was a used children’s car toy in the front yard.
