Pedestrian killed at Terrigal
A WOMAN was killed after being struck by a car out the front of a fine dining restaurant in Terrigal on Saturday night, while her pregnant friend was taken to hospital.

A 33-YEAR-old woman died at the scene after being hit by a car in Terrigal on Saturday night and police have charged a man over the death.
Police were called to the scene at 7.45pm after reports two women — who witnesses say were making their way to the popular fine-dining restaurant The Cowrie — were hit by a car on Scenic Highway. One woman, 33, died at the scene and the other, a 32-year-old pregnant woman, was taken to Gosford Hospital with pelvic injuries. She is in a stable condition.
Witnesses say the driver sped off from the scene, but returned shortly afterwards. Police say they arrested the 22-year-old man near Barnhill Rd, in Terrigal, about 8.15pm.
He was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests before being taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, and not keeping left of dividing line.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on August 30.
The man, who holds a Queensland driver’s licence, had his authority to drive in NSW suspended.
The Scenic Highway was closed for five hours while officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene.
