A man and a woman have appeared in court today on weapons and drug offences after police found two rifles and a shotgun buried in their backyard home on the Central Coast.
A man and woman have appeared in court today on weapons and drug offences after police found two rifles and a shotgun buried in their backyard on the Central Coast.
The guns were located about 7.30pm on Friday by Brisbane Water Police and Strike Force Raptor North officers during a search of a home on Lentara Rd, Umina Beach.
The weapons found included two shortened .22 calibre rifles and a 12 gauge shotgun.
More than 1kg of methylamphetamine, nearly 400g of heroin, 1.4g of MDMA, 17g of cannabis, three motorcycles, a Toyota 86 LandCruiser, a mountain bike, mobile phones, jewellery and nearly $95,000 cash was also seized during the search.
Mark William Chartres-Abbott, 64, and Deborah Mulholland, 53, were arrested at the home and taken to Gosford Police Station.
Mr Chartres-Abbott was charged with 13 drug and firearms offences including two counts of possessing a shortened firearm without authority, possessing unauthorised firearms, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, and supplying a large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.
Ms Mulholland was charged with the commercial supply of prohibited drugs and running a drug house.
They were both refused bail to appear at Wyong Bail Court on Saturday, where they were formally refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today.
Neither of the pair applied for bail and it was formally refused.
They will reappear at the same court on July 26.
