Conditions have eased on the Central Coast and the bushfire heading for remote communities in the Yengo and Dharug National Parks area has been downgraded to watch and act.

Earlier on Tuesday night strong westerly winds whipped up a fire at Three Mile pushing it in the direction of remote Central Coast communities.

NSW Rural Fire Service Inspector Ben Shepherd said there had been a quick escalation of the fire in the Hawkesbury River LGA and there spot fires had sprung up in the Mangrove Creek and Lower Mangrove Areas.

Residents were sent emegency warnings to seek shelter but are now assisting firefighters to protect homes in the remote Yengo and Dharug National Parks areas.

But fireys warn winds and temperatures are expected to increase over the coming days until Friday and residents in the Mangrove Creek, Greengrove and Lower Mangrove areas should be ready and to leave early if that is their survival plan.
