A Central Coast couple facing alleged sexual offences on a teenage boy have been charged with an extra 260 offences.

A Narara couple charged with the alleged ongoing abuse of a teenage boy have been charged with an extra 260 offences.

The charges were laid on Thursday following an extensive investigation into the alleged sexual offences.

Paul Robert Bamforth, 49, and his wife Julia Ann Bamforth, 48, were not required to appear via video link at Gosford Local Court on Friday where neither of their respective solicitors applied for bail and it was formally refused.

In February 2021, Brisbane Water Police District started Strike Force Bloomsbury to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs – mainly methylamphetamine and MDMA – on the Central Coast.

As a result a search warrant was carried out at a Narara home on February 26, 2021, where officers allegedly found swords, knives, knuckle dusters, an electronic stun device, mobile phones, methylamphetamine, MDMA, cannabis and cash.

Following an analysis of the items seized, they started an investigation into the alleged child sexual offences committed against a teenage boy.

Mr and Mrs Bamforth were charged with drug, weapon and sex-related offences and have been refused bail since their arrest last year.

On Thursday, police charged Mr Bamforth with an extra 126 sex-related offences and Mrs Bamforth with an additional 136 sex-related offences.

These offences include aggravated – intentionally do sexual act with child, intentionally sexually touch child, do sexual act child filmed for abuse material and use child to make child abuse material.

The court heard the couple and their legal representatives are due to have a case conference with prosecutors on April 6.

They were both adjourned to reappear at court on April 22 when they are expected to enter a plea or be committed to stand trial in the District Court .
