Man’s body located in house fire on Mercator Pde, St Huberts Island

A man’s body has been located after crews extinguished a house fire on the Central Coast. Two other people are reported to have escaped the blaze.

Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body following a house fire on the Central Coast.

Emergency services were called to Mercator Pde at St Huberts Island, near Woy Woy, about 5.40am on Tuesday to reports of a house well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews arrived and extinguished the blaze.

Following a subsequent search of the home, the body of a man was located.

Although he is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be a man aged in his 40s.

Police said two other occupants of the home made it out safely and were being assessed by paramedics.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
