Man dead after Lake Munmorah car crash

A 25-year-old man has died at the scene after a crash at Lake Munmorah and police have asked for witnesses to come forward.

A 25-year-old man has died at the scene after a crash at Lake Munmorah and police have asked for witnesses to come forward.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Elizabeth Bay drive just before 11.45pm on Saturday after a Subaru Forrester and a Ford Ranger collided.

Police have been told, the Subaru veered from the roadway and rolled after the crash before hitting the pylon of a nearby footbridge.

The Subaru driver died at the scene.

The Ford driver, a 33-year-old woman, and three passengers were treated by paramedics and taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition. The driver also underwent mandatory testing.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Traffic and Highway Patrol Command are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
