A 60-year-old man has died at Soldiers Beach this morning.

The man, understood to be a surfer, emerged from the water around 9am and was in distress before bystanders called an ambulance.

A spokesman from NSW Ambulance said paramedics were called to the Norah Head beach at 9.15am.

He said the man suffered a “medical episode” on the beach and was transported to Wyong Hospital. The man died as a result of the episode.

It has been a busy morning on the coast for emergency services with a 52-year-old woman critical after colliding with a car on the Pacific Highway in Wyong.
