M1 fatal crash near Sparks Road
A 72-YEAR-old man has been identified as the person killed in a head-on on the M1 just past Sparks Road this morning. This follows an horrific accident two days ago on the M1 which killed two others.

A 72-YEAR-old man has been identified as the person killed in this morning’s tragic accident on the M1 near Sparks Road.
No names have been released, and police said they would prepare a report for the Coroner.
Police said the accident happened at about 4.30am and emergency services were called to the south bound lanes of the M1, near the Sparks Road off ramp, after reports that two vehicles had collided head on.
It is believed that a northbound sedan and a southbound utility collided.
As a result of the collision the driver of the sedan, a 72-year-old man died at the scene.
The 26-year-old male occupant of the utility was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics and conveyed to Gosford Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and established a crime scene.
Both vehicles have been removed for further mechanical examination.
Police will prepare a report, outlining the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death, for the information of the Coroner.
The road was closed for several hours while investigators examined the crash scene eventually reopening fully about 8am.
The Sparks Road crash brings to three the number of people killed on the notorious road in the last three days after a shocking accident just north of the Mooney Mooney Bridge two days ago.
A truck driver has been charged over the Mooney Mooney incident and will face court later this month.
Jack Langford, 19, and Adam Langford, 52, were killed when a truck allegedly smashed into the rear of their ute before bursting into flames on Tuesday evening.
