William Crawley, 30, of Fountaindale, was arrested on Friday after allegedly leading police on a pursuit on an unregistered motorcycle.
About 8.25am Brisbane Water Police officers were travelling along Piper Drive, Hamlyn Terrace, when they attempted to stop an unregistered motorcycle.
When the motorcycle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the motorcycle stopped on Minnesota Rd and the rider allegedly abandoned the bike and fled on foot.
After a short foot chase police arrested the rider.
During a search of the man, police located and seized a knife, a shortened shotgun with five shotgun cartridges, prohibited drugs, counterfeit cash and other items alleged to be stolen.
Mr Crawley was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with 24 offences including breaking and entering, possessing a shortened firearm and ammunition, failing to stop during a police pursuit, goods in custody, possessing a knife in public and riding an unregistered motorcycle while disqualified.
Mr Crawley was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Bail Court on Saturday where he was again refused bail to appear before a magistrate on Monday.
His Legal Aid solicitor told Wyong Local Court on Monday Mr Crawley did not wish to be brought up on the video screen and sought an adjournment.
The court heard the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) would consider electing to take carriage of the matter from the police prosecutor and the matter was adjourned to November 8.
Mr Crawley did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
