A family has expressed their “massive shock” at the death of a young father who leaves behind “two beautiful children” at Hamlyn Terrace.
Jesse Tattersall was found stabbed at a house on Bateup Drive about 8.40pm on Thursday, September 8.
Emergency services were called to the scene and paramedics worked on the 33-year-old before he was taken to a nearby oval to be flown to John Hunter Hospital.
However, despite their best efforts Mr Tattersall died at the scene.
A man, 25, and a woman, 19, allegedly fled into nearby bushland before calling an Uber.
They were arrested about an hour later at a Gorokan address and taken to Wyong Police Station.
The man, Tyler Edwin King, of Budgewoi, was charged with murder and his girlfriend Maddison York, 19, of Maitland, was charged with being an accessory after the fact to Mr Tattersall’s murder.
Both faced Wyong Local Court the following day where they were refused bail to reappear via video link on October 18.
Meanwhile, family members of Mr Tattersall have launched a GoFundMe page to help his young family.
It started with a goal of raising $10,000 and within a day had already raised more than half of that at $5510.
“Jesse’s passing was an unfortunate event, which has come as a massive shock to his family and friends,” organiser Jo-Anne Tattersall wrote.
“Jesse leaves behind two beautiful children. If you would like to donate to help support his children and family, funeral and wake expenses we would really appreciate it.”
