Genital mutilation: Howard Rollins faces aiding and abetting charge in Gosford Court

THE American man arrested in Melbourne last week in relation to the alleged genital mutilation of a woman has been identified as the self-proclaimed ‘inventor of the eyeball tattoo’.
Howard Rollins, 40, known in body modification circles as the ‘Luna Cobra’, sat quietly during his first appearance at Gosford Local Court today where his matter was adjourned until November 23.
This will allow for the electronic evidence pertinent to the case that is currently being procured from overseas companies to arrive.
He is the second man to be charged after NSW Police began investigating illegal body modification in Newcastle and on the Central Coast.
His co-accused, Brendan Leigh Russell of Terrigal, was charged with manslaughter in August after a woman allegedly had a plastic snowflake implanted under the skin of her right hand weeks before she died.
The 37-year-old was also charged with prohibition of female genitalia after burning off the labia majora of a client in January, 2015.
Mr Rollins stands accused of ‘aiding and abetting’ that charge under Section 45 of the NSW Crimes Act and was detained at Tullamarine aiport last Thursday by virtue of an interstate warrant.
He is currently on strict, conditional bail after posting a $50,000 surety.
