Forresters Beach: Man charged with alleged pedestrian hit-and-run

A man has been charged after allegedly ploughing into a parked car and a pedestrian at Forresters Beach before allegedly assaulting a police officer during his arrest.

A man has been charged after a pedestrian was injured following a crash on the state’s Central Coast.

Shortly after 7.30pm on Thursday, October 28, emergency services were called to Mistview Circuit, at Forresters Beach, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

On arrival, Brisbane Water police were told the driver of a white Ford Ranger utility had allegedly crashed into a parked Volkswagen Amarok utility, before hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.

The 42-year-old male pedestrian was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

Following investigations, about 10pm, Tuggerah Lakes Police officers attended a home at Marlowe Rd, at Bateau Bay, and arrested a 26-year-old man.

During the arrest, police will allege the man became aggressive and assaulted a male senior constable.

Police seized a white Ford Ranger utility and $5,945 cash from the home.

The man was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with causing bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving, assaulting an officer in execution of their duty, resisting and officer and failing to stop and assist after a crash involving an injury.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Wednesday, December 8.

The man’s driver’s licence was also suspended.
