Crash at Cooranga and Cardonia Roads Wyonga results in charges

A 23-year-old woman has been charged after the car she was driving crashed at Wyongah last month, leaving herself and her passenger seriously injured.

A 23-year-old woman has been charged after the car she was driving crashed at Wyongah last month, leaving herself and her passenger seriously injured.

About 6.30pm on Monday October 1, emergency services were called to the intersection of Cooranga and Cardonia roads, Wyongah, following reports of crash.

It appears the Holden Commodore station wagon left with roadway and hit a tree seriously injuring the 23-year-old female driver and her 35-year-old female passenger.

Yesterday (Tuesday) the 23-year-old driver, attended Wyong Police Station and was charged by officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit with numerous charges including:

■ Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm

■ Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive under the influence

■ Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous

■ Common assault (DV) x 2

■ Negligent driving

■ Driving under the influence of alcohol.

The woman was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Wyong Local Court on Wednesday 28 November 2018.
