A motorcyclist was believed to be ‘well affected’ by alcohol before crashing his bike while leaving the Northlakes Tavern car park.
A motorcyclist, who is fighting for life in hospital, may have been ejected from the Northlakes Tavern for being too drunk before crashing his bike in the car park.
Emergency services were called to the Charmhaven pub’s car park at 8.55pm.
Police were told a 24-year-old Learner rider was leaving the carpark when he lost control and fell from his 650cc Suzuki motorcycle.
It is understood his helmet came off as a result of the collision.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition but was expected to be transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.
Police believe alcohol may have been a significant contributing factor in the crash.
Tuggerah Lakes Police are urging any witnesses to contact police and will today review any CCTV footage from the tavern.
The Express Advocate has been told the man may have been ejected from the pub shortly before the crash.
