A south western Sydney cluster of COVID-19 cases has been linked to a Central Coast farm.
Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) has confirmed the cluster of seven cases shared private transport to a hydroponic farm in the region where they worked.
The Local Health District’s Public Health Unit has been helping South Western Sydney Local Health District manage the cluster of residents, who live in south western Sydney. They spent some time working on a hydroponic farm.
“The residents are believed to have contracted COVID-19 while sharing private transportation to the farm,” a CCLHD spokeswoman said.
“Two Central Coast residents who live and work on the farm have been identified as close
contacts. Both have tested negative for COVID-19 and will remain in home isolation for two
weeks as a precaution.
“There are no other contacts on the Central Coast and there is no ongoing risk posed to the Central Coast community by this farm or any produce.”
The coast has remained COVID-19 free for more than one month.
A returned international traveller, from the coast, tested positive for the virus last week while quarantining in Sydney. She remains in isolation.
