Kincumber High School will be reopened tomorrow.

The school was closed today after a student tested positive to COVID-19 with Principal Brent Walker advising all staff and students to self-isolate.

A team of cleaners from the NSW Department of Education were sent to extensively clean the school from top to bottom.

“NSW Health experts have now completed the contact tracing process and a very small number of close contacts were notified to remain in self-isolation,” Terrigal state Liberal MP Adam Crouch said.

“NSW Health will provide all necessary self-isolation and care advice. Any students and staff that have not been asked to self-isolate by NSW Health are not considered to have had close contact with COVID-19, and can resume their daily routines.”

Earlier today, Mr Walker advised parents that a student of the school had returned a positive test.

“The school is working closely with NSW Health to assist them to conduct their contact tracing process,” Mr Walker said.

“In accordance with advice from NSW Health, all staff and students are asked to self-isolate until the contact tracing process has been completed.”

Staff and students who have been in close contact with the student who tested positive have been individually advised.

“Obviously the safety and wellbeing of students and staff is of paramount important to the NSW Government,” Mr Crouch said.

“The NSW Department of Education and NSW Health will continue to work closely to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.”

It comes as Central Coast cases rise to 102 with 4101 people tested since the outbreak of the disease.
