A man charged with high range drink driving will front court on Thursday after drunkenly falling overboard when on a video call with his family.

The Woy Woy man, 26, is to appear at Gosford Local Court for operating a vessel with a high range PCA.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 2, when he was driving his aluminium runabout in Brisbane Water off Koolewong.

Emergency services were called to the scene and, with the help of a member of the public, police boarded the man’s boat and conducted a large water search with the Marine Area Command.

The man was found floating in water off Point Clare and was taken to Woy Woy Police Station where he returned an alleged breath analysis of 0.168.

He was subsequently charged and given bail.
