Boy, 4, dragged along under car and pinned to garage at Toukley
A four-year-old boy has been dragged along under a car after being hit at Toukley this morning.
UPDATE: A little boy has suffered leg fractures after being pinned between his mum’s car and the pillar of their garage at Toukley.
Emergency services were called to a house on Athol St at 9.03am following reports a four-year-old boy had been struck and dragged along by a car.
A police spokesman said it appeared the car rolled as the child was getting out, pinning him between the vehicle and the pillar of the garage.
He said the mother had already exited the vehicle and police were investigating whether the handbrake was on or if the car was properly in the park gear.
Paramedics treated the child at the scene and he was taken to John Hunter Hospital by road ambulance in a stable condition.
Inquiries are continuing.
