Bar Point: Body of woman, 44, pulled from Hawkesbury River after boating mishap

A report will be prepared for the Coroner after the body of a woman, 44, was pulled from the water on the Hawkesbury River when her empty boat was found nearby.

A woman has died after a boating misadventure on the Hawkesbury River.

About 7.50am on Wednesday, February 28, emergency services were called to the Hawkesbury River at Bar Point, following reports a woman was missing after leaving in a boat.

Marine Area Command located an unoccupied boat at the scene, before pulling an unresponsive 44-year-old woman from the water.

Police rendered aid before she was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.

Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
