Plans to create the Central Coast’s highest bar have been revealed as the Archibald development sales continue to soar.
The latest images of Archibald Skybar and Lounge have been revealed by Sydney developer ALAND which plans to “deliver a drinking and dining experience that is so far unparalleled in the regional centre” of Gosford.
The approved Archibald by ALAND has been hailed as a landmark development set to transform Gosford, with the $375 million project at 108 Donnison St to include 323 apartments, 130 hotel rooms, food and drink offerings, ground floor pub plus the Skybar & Lounge.
The bar will take up the entirety of Level 28 above the Archibald’s hotel and apartments.
It will have uninterrupted 270-degress views of Brisbane Water with plans to be a meeting place and reflect the coast’s laid back vide.
With the ability to hold around 400 patrons, the bar will cover around 1000 sqm with a cocktail lounge along with a function space featuring a separate bar and terrace.
ALAND’s head of development Ryan Lane said the bar would serve up a previously untapped experience for the Central Coast.
“When we set out to investigate the viability of the Skybar we discovered that something like this would be extremely unique for the area,” he said.
“There simply isn’t anyone with an offering like this on the coast.”
He said ALAND had worked closely with designers and architects to come up with a concept which is tailored for the coast market.
“It’s designed to be very approachable and welcoming, but not too over the top,” he said.
“However, it will still provide a point of difference for entertainment that the Central Coast doesn’t currently have.
“There are pub and restaurant offerings, but the Skybar is going to give locals a venue they
can really celebrate.”
Mr Lane said while the future operators of both the bar and hotel were yet to be announced, there had been competitive interest by “top industry players”.
“With regards to the hotel, we’re very well progressed with conversations after having gone through a meticulous tender process with significant response from some pretty prominent brands,” he said.
“When you have more than 10 significantly interested parties – as we have experience with Archibald – it shows the strength of the opportunity in the Gosford market.”
Archibald will be completed in late 2024 with more than one third of apartments already sold.
A total of 104 apartments, valued at more than $80m, have disappeared from the market less than three months since Archibald by ALAND launched.
Prices have ranged from $475,000 for a one-bedroom apartment to $835,000 for three-
bedroom apartments with downsizers making up the majority of buyers.
ALAND CEO George Tadrosse said that the project’s unparalleled offering was also a major drawcard.
“Archibald is the only project of its kind in Gosford, the level of amenity is unmatched, and residents will get that hotel lifestyle with access to resort-style facilities and beaches at their doorstep,” he said.
“We’re seeing many investors taking advantage of the growing population and new economic ventures in education, retail and health innovation in the area. It’s no surprise that investors have been quick to recognise this unique offering and its potential.
Project Sales Director Georgia Scanlon said ALAND’s sales to date were indicative of the demand of the Central Coast market.
“The Central Coast market continues to perform despite broader market sentiment, offering buyers an affordable coastal lifestyle that is hard to match anywhere else in regional NSW locations,” she said.
“The Northconnex has allowed the coast to become a part of greater Sydney in the same way Western Sydney has.”
“We’re seeing a lot of local downsizers come from The Hills and Northern Beaches along with first home buyers who are outpriced in Sydney.
“Essentially everyone is chasing a lifestyle only a stone’s throw from Sydney and the CBD.”
