RADIO personality Akmal Saleh will leave the Central Coast’s 2GO after just one year on the breakfast radio show.
2GO issued a statement today announcing Saleh will be “hanging up his headphones” to spend more time with family and pursue further comedic opportunities. His final show will be on December 21.
“There are many things that I am going to miss about working here at 2GO but I think
without a doubt the person I’m going to miss the most is Singo the Butcher,” Saleh said.
2GO’s content director Peter Yiamarelos said it had been a pleasure to have Akmal and Mandy on the airwaves.
“In 2019 a new voice will be joining the breakfast show, led by returning co-host Mandy Coolen,” he said.
“2GO will continue to create content our listeners love and will build on the growth that’s been achieved this year.”
This time last year, 2GO came under fire after dumping former breakfast radio hosts Sarah King and Paddy Gerrard.
King had been with 2GO for 27 years and Gerrard has been with Central Coast Radio for 18 years. They were replaced by Mandy and Akmal.
