Covid-19 cases rise in ACT aged care centres
Rates of Covid-19 in Canberra’s aged care centres are at the highest levels since winter. Here’s the full list of every aged care outbreak in the ACT.

Covid-19 cases in aged care homes across Canberra are at the highest numbers since winter.
Data released from the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care states, as of December 21, there were 86 aged care residents with active cases of Covid-19.
This is the highest number of active cases since August 7 where the Department recorded 149 active cases among aged care residents in the ACT.
Additionally, as of December 21, 16 aged care workers were active cases of Covid-19.
Department data also suggests the rate of Covid-19 cases among aged care residents in the ACT nearly doubled within only a week; from 45 active cases as of December 14 to 86 as of December 21.
Meanwhile active cases among aged care workers decreased slightly from 24 cases as of December 14 to 16 cases as of December 21.
Among the affected aged care centres, the biggest outbreak is at Bill McKenzie Gardens in Page where there are 58 resident cases and 18 staff cases of Covid-19.

The Department releases regular reports on the scale of Covid-19 outbreaks affecting aged care homes.
During the festive period between December 23 and January 3 2023 the Department will not release further updated data.
