A middle-aged woman has fessed up to her role in a brutal, bikie-linked beating in which a man had his head stomped and his leg broken with a guitar.

Sharon Ann Stott, 58, on Monday pleaded guilty to robbery in company on January 10 at Oaks Estate on the outskirts of Canberra.

Ms Stott, who was led in to court with a guard tightly gripping her by the back of the T-shirt, said: “Well, yeah, I’m guilty”.

The precise details of Stott’s role in the robbery are due to be aired in court on Tuesday.

Stott has been behind bars since early February.

Stott and her four co-accused were due to face trial beginning Monday.

One of her co-accused, Dean Stephen Reid, is a former Rebels member and current president of the upstart Canberra chapter of the Satudarah outlaw bikie gang.

He has pleaded not guilty.

The three other men accused of playing a role in the robbery, who have also pleaded not guilty, are David Michael Evans, Joshua Darcy Watson and Norman Collier.

The five were yesterday packed into the courtroom’s jury box, with eight guards keeping them separate.

Supporters in the public gallery blew kisses and mouthed words of support.

Ms Stott’s guilty plea on Monday included that her co-accused were armed with offensive weapons.

Court records released earlier this year show that police originally alleged Stott directed Reid and the others to show up at their victim’s home and perform a standover job.

It was not clear on Monday precisely what part of those early allegations Stott would admit, following negotiations between her legal team and prosecutors.

During the robbery, the man’s car keys and phone were stolen, he was threatened with a knife and one of his legs was broken when he was clobbered with an electric guitar, police alleged at the time.

Stott, Reid, Evans, Watson and Collier will return to court on Tuesday before Justice Chrissa Loukas-Karlsson.
