An “angry” woman who had been written up by a city parking inspector shoved him so hard he fell over backwards, cracked his head on a parked car and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance, a court has heard.

Jodie Edwards, 43, of Kambah in the ACT, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday where she pleaded guilty to obstructing a public official and common assault.

Edwards admitted she shoved parking inspector Tsuneaki Aoki in the chest on the afternoon of February 19.

Edwards had parked her Subaru Liberty, without a ticket, near 88mph nightclub in Civic when Mr Aoki pinged her.

Agreed facts, tendered in court, show the parking inspector waited beside the Subaru for three minutes in case Edwards was nearby, or was buying a ticket, before he began writing out the $120 fine.

Edwards appeared just as Mr Aoki was taking photos of the car and began “demanding to know why he had issued her with a ticket”.

Edwards agreed that “throughout the exchange, (her) behaviour escalated, becoming increasingly angry and abusive towards Mr Aoki”.

She stood in front of him, and was deliberately obstructive, as he tried to take photos of the car.

She then “pushed Mr Aoki with both hands, connecting with his shoulders and chest area”.

The agreed facts say: “The force of the push caused Mr Aoki to fall heavily backwards, striking his head on the blue vehicle behind him”.

Mr Aoki’s next memory of a stranger standing over him seeing if he could squeeze his hand.

An ambulance arrived shortly afterwards to take him to hospital, and police had Edwards meet them at the nearby city police station.

In a police interview, Edwards said she shoved Mr Aoki because she was angry he had written her a parking ticket.

Magistrate Margaret Hunter will sentence Edwards at a later date.
