Dylan Voller: Former youth detainee wanted over alleged armed robbery in NSW
A former youth detainee who made headlines after he was pictured strapped to a chair in a Northern Terrritory dentention centre will be arrested if he sets foot in NSW, police have confirmed.

Notorious former detainee and self-styled “youth justice advocate” Dylan Voller remains wanted over an armed robbery in Moama last year and will be arrested if he steps foot inside NSW.
Voller, whose treatment in custody sparked a Royal Commission after he was pictured strapped to a chair with a hood over his head in a Northern Territory detention centre in 2015, is understood to be living in Western Australia with his partner and child.
Voller was released from jail earlier this year after he admitted to fracturing a transit officer’s eye socket, possessing meth and “waving” his penis around.
A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed a warrant for Voller’s arrest remains outstanding.
The arrest warrant was issued by the Deniliquin Local Court in May 2019, and police allege Voller was armed with an offensive weapon during a robbery in March last year.
They also allege he shoplifted from a store in the same town in January last year.
Precise details of the allegations Voller is facing have not been publicly aired, but the Murray River Police District last year warned members of the public not to approach him.
Shortly after police secured the warrant for Voller’s arrest, he was sentenced in the Queensland District Court to six months in jail, fully suspended, for making a hoax bomb threat during the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
He was then arrested in Western Australia over the assault on the transit guard and the indecent act, among other charges.
In a recent video posted to Instagram, filmed at a Perth gym, Voller said working out was an “outlet to get off the drugs and get off the alcohol and stay out of trouble”.
Voller has also posted a photo, which appears to be of himself in a haze of smoke, with the caption “stay high, stay positive”.
A 2016 controversial 4 Corners documentary detailing Voller’s treatment in Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in Darwin prompted former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull and former
Northern Territory chief minister Adam Giles to call the royal commission into the detention and protection of children in the NT.
Voller has since sued the Northern Territory Government, resulting in a reported settlement of between $50,000 and $60,000.
He is also suing media outlets for defamation, claiming comments left by readers on the outlets’ Facebook pages damaged his reputation.
