The man who died in a suspicious altercation at the Kingston Hotel on Sunday has been revealed as Warren Hordpenko, a 44-year-old man from Dalmeny, on the NSW South Coast.
Homicide detectives are treating Mr Hordpenko’s death as suspicious and have a detailed list of people who attended the popular pub in the hours leading up to the death, because customers were required to leave their names and contact numbers as part in case there was an outbreak of COVID-19.
Between 20 and 30 people were at the bar when police and ambulance crews were called on Sunday night.
It is understood Mr Hordpenko had extended family in the ACT.
The fatal altercation between Mr Hordpenko and an unknown assailant reportedly took place in the pub’s pool room, the only room without security cameras.
Investigators are going through hours of footage from other parts of the pub.
In a statement, ACT Policing said anyone who spoke with Mr Hordpenko on the night or who might have information that could help detectives should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
