Canberra Comanchero nominee Jaymie Turner has been refused bail after allegedly threatening to break a police officer’s nose in the aftermath of the killing of the gang’s chapter president.
Turner, 30, of Kaleen was at Kokomo’s nightclub in Canberra in the early hours of Sunday morning, where Pitasoni Ulavalu was stabbed and killed.
There is no suggestion Turner was involved in Mr Uluvalu’s killing.
Police are yet to arrest anyone or lay any charges over Mr Ulavalu’s killing.
Turner appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday morning, where he was refused bail amid police concerns he could take part in further violence.
In court documents, police allege Turner was “extremely agitated” at the scene, where they had set up a cordon around injured gang members while waiting for ambulance crews to arrive.
“(Turner) was extremely agitated and aggressive towards police and all other members of the public,” police allege.
“(Turner) repeatedly pointed his finger into the face of police and screamed ‘I’ll f**king break your nose c**t’ at close distance.
Police say they tried to calme the situation by asking Turner to step away so his injured mates could get medical treatment.
Turner then allegedly said: “Don’t touch me! I’ll f**king knock you out!”, before taking a swing at one officer and shoving another in the chest.
When a bystander yelled out at Turner, police say he ran towards them, took a swing and yelled “shut the f**k up c**t”.
In his cell at the watch house, Turner asked police if Mr Uluvalu had died.
When told he had, police allege Turner smashed the window of his cell door and said to a detective: “F**ken dog, I’m going to find your kids and your partner and I’m going to f**k them all up. I’m going to wait outside the station and find where you live, and I will f**ken shoot you. F**k you.”
Turner, who is yet to plead to charges of affray and making a threat to kill, returns to court at a later date.
