Canberra man remains behind bars after allegedly threatening to kill and leaving victim in ‘remote location’
A Canberra man was allegedly held at gunpoint, abducted and left in a remote location in NSW in a terrifying ordeal.
A 30-year-old man will remain behind bars after allegedly threatening to kill, abducting and then leaving a man in a “remote location” in NSW in a terrifying ordeal.
At ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Matthew Inder did not apply for bail but pleaded not guilty to all six charges which included making a reckless threat to kill, possessing an offensive weapon — a baseball bat — and two counts of common assault.
Police allege the victim Alexander Nicholson was threatened and assaulted at two houses, in Charnwood and Melba, on Monday.
Mr Nicholson was then allegedly held at gunpoint before he was drive to a remote location in NSW, where Inder left him.
A police investigation led to the execution of a search warrant in Charnwood on Tuesday afternoon, which resulted in the arrest of Inder.
He has also been charged with forcible confinement.
Special magistrate Margaret Hunter adjourned the matter to September 4 for a pre-hearing mention.
