Woman, 31, charged with drink-driving on Hume Highway, Goulburn

A woman was allegedly caught rocketing down the highway with an extremely high blood alcohol reading on the weekend.

Just before 7pm on a Saturday night officers attached to Goulburn Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement duties along the Hume Highway, Goulburn, when they detected the 31-year-old’s Hyundai Getz.

The Kambah woman was allegedly travelling at more than 130km/h in a 110km/h signposted area.

After being pulled over by police, she was asked to do a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result, and was subsequently taken to Goulburn Police Station for a secondary reading.

The breath analysis at the station returned an alleged reading of 0.258 – more than five times the legal limit when driving.

The 31-year-old woman was charged driving with a high range PCA, and her licence was suspended.

She is due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday August 24.
